OVER DE NAAM
De naam wairua komt uit het Maori (een souvenir van de periode dat we in Nieuw Zeeland gewoond hebben).
Te tinana, te hinengaro, me te wairua ēnei e toru, te mea nui o ēnei ko te wairua. Te tinana: he anga kau nō te wairua. Te hinengaro: he kaiwhakaatu ki te ao he pēnei nā te wairua kei roto i te tangata.
Of these three things, the body, the mind and the spirit, the most important is the spirit. The body is the vehicle for the spirit. The mind shows the world what the spirit of the person is like.

OVER DE BOOT
Wairua is een Hanse 370 uit 2007. Wij hebben haar gekocht in 2017 en er de afgelopen jaren met name mee gezeild op de Waddenzee en het IJsselmeer.
Het plan voor “de lange reis” zat al wat langer in het achterhoofd en werd met deze boot een concrete mogelijkheid.
